Gerald Fagan has long been regarded as one of the music icons of Canada. He brings a legacy of outstanding musical achievement, garnered over five decades of conducting both in Canada and internationally.

Maestro Fagan has been a guest and founding conductor for many provincial choral organizations, including Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. In each of these provinces he assisted in the pioneering of Choral Federations, was a featured clinician in innumerable workshops and conducted elite Provincial Choirs. Twice conductor of the Ontario Youth Choir, he was also founding conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir.

Internationally, Mr. Fagan has performed on tour in Poland, Lithuania, England, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Germany, France, Monaco and Holland. As a featured Guest Conductor, he has directed choirs from Cuba, Russia, Scotland, Taiwan, Germany, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Peru, Great Britain and the United States.

Honoured by Choirs Ontario, the City of London and Conservatory Canada for his service to culture, Gerald Fagan also received honours from the President of Lithuania as the conductor of the first performance by a foreign ensemble following that country’s declaration of independence.

In London, Ontario, Gerald continues as Artistic Director of The Gerald Fagan Singers, Fanshawe Chorus London and The Concert Players Orchestra. He is in his 32nd year as conductor of these groups and offers each season a double series of performances as well as many appearances for presenting organizations.

Mr. Fagan conducted choirs from across Canada at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa for the Canada Day Celebrations in July 2010. He also conducted the National Arts Centre Orchestra this past Canada Day.

In August of 2010, Maestro Fagan received the prestigious President’s Leadership Award from Choirs Ontario. In November he was awarded an Honourary Diploma from Fanshawe College, and in January 2011 he was awarded Ontario's most prestigious honour, being named to the Order of Ontario.

In Summer 2011, Gerald Fagan was thrilled to be the Artistic Director of the first ever Bach Music Festival of Canada.
